Kayleen Tolley

Instructor since January 1997

Owner since July 2003

Hello, my name is Kayleen Tolley and I have worked as a Physi kids Instructor since 1998. I have a Diploma in Education and a background in athletics and child care. I have attained my Beginning Coaching Principles Certificate through the Australian Sports Commission, my Grass Roots License through the Australian Football Federation, and I have completed my Small Business Certificate. I attained my Level 1 Coaching Certificate through HockeyEd and my Level 1 Junior Coaching Certificate through AFL Queenlsand. I am currently studying a Certificate in Coaching through Health Academy Australia. My job now is mostly managerial, as I run everything in the background from Physi kids Headquarters. I do occasionally need to relieve our Instructors during busy times! My favourite day of the week is when I volunteer at ACT for Kids! I have two sons – Liam has grown up and left home, and Jai is in high school.

Liam Tolley

Assistant Office Admin 2021

I’m Kayleen’s eldest son, and I normally live in Sydney, as I am a Finance Business Partner at Qantas. My role at Qantas enables me to work from home whilst I assist Mum with running her business this year. Before moving to Sydney, I spent my teen years working as a Physi kids kindergarten and party instructor. I have played representative football, rugby league and rugby union, and enjoyed coaching under 16’s football.

Kai is the absolute light of my life and I spent his first two years at home with him. He is now in primary school! Prior to becoming a Mum, I worked at Redlands gymnastics in Cleveland, coaching all ages and stages, from 3 to 17 years, putting my gymnastics coaching certificate to good use. Since May 2017

I have been an Educator at Scallywags Child Care Centre in Mt Gravatt since 2006, putting my Diploma in Childcare to good use.  In 2014 I gained Water Safety and Infant Aquatic qualifications and began teaching ‘learn to swim’ on Saturday mornings. When the weather is warmer, I do like swimming myself. My twins are currently mastering their bike riding skills, so this is a really fun time together. They are now in primary school, and they loved participating in Physi kids classes when they were still at kindy! It’s a privilege to be part of children’s lives as they learn and grow, and I enjoy taking a key role in that journey.

This Venue has become my home away from home, as I pour all of my energy and enthusiasm into the families that come through. I also run my own primary school clinics, which is so rewarding. I have a lot of passion for sports and fitness, and love bringing children out of their shell and encouraging them to get active. I have attained a Bachelor of Business Management, and am looking into gaining a second BA in Education, with the goal to become a Primary Physical Education Teacher.

I am currently in grade 9 at Citipointe Christian College. My favourite subjects are Physical Education and Hospitality. I hope to represent Australia for swimming in my future, and am considering joining the police force when my swimming career is over. I played soccer for 7 years outside of school, and continue to represent school in the First XI Football team. I have competed in the All Schools Aquathlon at State and National levels. When not swimming on weekends, I will sometimes assist at sports parties. A few years ago, my older brother also coached at Physi kids, and I would sometimes go along to work with him too.
